Untouched by Light sparkling wine became a golden national innovation

Untouched by Light Radgonski Gorice sparkling wine received the highest national award for innovation

Gornja Radgona, 13 October 2021. – On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Innovation Day 2021 event in Ljubljana, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce awarded Radgonski gorica and their sparkling wine Untouched by Light the highest, gold national award for innovation. Out of the 207 innovations that applied to the tenders of the regional chambers of commerce this year, 41 of the best golden regional innovations competed for the highest national innovation awards of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the national level, of which only 9 reached the very top. In this regard, Untouched by Light is the first innovation in the food industry in Slovenia to receive the aforementioned award.

The recognition comes at the right time, when we are happy to announce that from October 1, 2021, Untouched by Light sparkling wine will be available again! After the successful launch of the first vintage 2016 on October 1 last year, the first 2,000 bottles were sold out in the middle of this summer! The wait for the release of the new 2,000 bottles of Untouched by Light on the market is finally over and the first bottle of the new vintage 2017, like last year, was first tasted by Pierre-Yves Bournérias, an expert from the Oenological Institute of Champagne, who describes:

"The color is intensely golden, the bubbles are extremely small. On the nose, the sparkling wine is rich and inviting, with developed notes of ripe yellow and white fruit such as peach, pear, a hint of mango... Very seductive. The first impression in the mouth is perfect freshness, with lively citrus notes. Then creaminess and tenderness slowly follow, which is only helped by very gentle and delicate bubbles, which all contribute to the nice roundness of this sparkling wine. The aftertaste is long, but still fresh with a hint of minerality. The mouth remains agape after another sip!”

"Like its predecessor, this sparkling wine was produced in the dark during the entire production process, from harvest to packaging. So we actually continued with the challenge, which we reinforced with the experience and knowledge gained from the previous year's Untouched by Light sparkling wine. The first tasting of this sparkling wine from the previous year was associated with some uncertain anticipation and a certain amount of fear. With it, we have set a high quality criterion, as it has garnered a lot of positive reviews. I can confirm with enthusiasm that the Untouched by Light sparkling wine of the year 2017 has met all my expectations!" adds Klavdija Topolovec Špur, enologist of Radgonski Gorice and creator of Untouched by Light sparkling wine.

That the sparkling wine has reached and exceeded the expectations of the public is evidenced not only by the sold-out first year, but also by the numerous awards received during the year: the silver Decanter and the golden Glass of Bubbly for the content, and the Red Dot, Art Directors Club New awards for the design. York and the Bronze Lion of Cannes. To the latter we can add one more, quite recently won award for design, namely the Cresta award. It is an international award whose purpose is to recognize high standards of creative achievements in the international industry of advertising, digital design and marketing communications. The award winners are selected according to an alternative evaluation process based on rigorous criteria.
