Two champions for Radgonske gorice again this year

The Wine Slovenia 2021 evaluation awarded two champions to Radgonske Gorice

Gornja Radgona, 22. 7. 2021 – The 47th open national wine competition, Vino Slovenija 2021, which is one of the most prestigious internationally recognized competitions, took place at the Pomurje Fair between 12 and 14 July 2021. Radgonske gorice won two champions, 1 grand gold, 5 gold and 6 silver medals at this year's competition.

In the sparkling wine category, the judging panel was once again most impressed by Zlata radgonska penina Millésime of the 2008 vintage, as it once again earned the title of "champion" following last year's example! The term Millésime comes from France and actually means "chosen vintage", thus emphasizing that the sparkling wine is from a particular vintage. At the same time, this term is an important measure of the quality of a particular vintage, which is further highlighted by its use.

The second championship title was awarded to the special wines category, in which it shone. Traminer selection vintage 2002. While the public is more familiar with the Radgonski Traminer with the black label, this time its version came out on top, impressing with its sweeter and richer, but still fruity and harmonious character. In the same category, it can also boast a large gold medal Rana's Violin, dry strawberry selection, also from the 2002 vintage.

The Wine Slovenia evaluation took place for the 47th time this year. The evaluation committee consists of experts from all three Slovenian wine-growing regions and at least one evaluator from abroad. The evaluation is carried out according to the 100-point method proposed by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), the International Union of Oenologists (UIOE) and the World Federation of Professional Wine Evaluations (FMGCIVS).
