Quality wines with the attribute late harvest
Late harvest wines are wines, which are made from grapes harvested after the normal harvest. In the meantime the grapes sugar level increases. A beneficial mould that grows on grapes gives late harvest wines their characteristic taste.
The must pressed from these grapes is very sweet, with high sugar content. According to the legal standards it has to have at least 92 Öchsle.
Late harvest wines in the varieties Ranina, Traminer, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Gris succeed very well in the Radgonske gorice vineyards.
Late harvest wines are best served at a temperature of 10 – 12 degrees C and are ideal as an aperitif or with desserts.

These are special top-quality wines, which can only be harvested in very good and sunny years. The grapes ripen for a longer time and reach a very high level of sugar.
According to the level of sugar in the must it is divided in the following categories:
at least 105 Öchsle – select picking
at least 128 Öchsle – berries select picking
at least 154 Öchsle – dry berries select picking .
These special top-quality wines are found in the varieties Ranina, Traminer, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Italian Riesling.
