More than fifty years ago, among the vineyards of Janžev Vrh, in the heart of the Radgona–Kapela wine-growing subregion, a legend was born – Janževec wine.
Initially known as Janžev Vrh wine – Rhine Riesling, it was created from carefully selected grapes of the Rhine Riesling variety, grown on slopes where tradition and a unique terroir intertwine.
A new popular wine genre
In the 1970s, the wine’s popularity grew rapidly, and demand exceeded production. At that time, oenologist Mr. Medvešček introduced a bold and visionary idea – to create a new wine blend that, alongside Rhine Riesling, would also combine other characteristic varieties of this wine-growing subregion.
Thus, Janževec was born – a wine that became more than just a drink. It became a brand, a symbol of quality, and a recognizable companion to many moments.

Over the years, Janževec has won the hearts of wine lovers and reached an impressive milestone – sales of two million liters. Its success is built on a modern approach to crafting flavor that follows consumer preferences, along with a distinctive identity marked by its recognizable label.
